Spit bridge to Manly coastal walk

One of my resolutions for this year is to walk and hike more. The Spit bridge to manly coastal walk was the first walk I did this year. This Sydney coastal walk is a great way to explore the beautiful panoramic landscapes of the harbor and bush lands. The views are spectacular and provides great opportunities to take photographs. The walk also comes across few aboriginal rock carvings.

Logistics of the walk:

Distance: 10 kilometers; well marked coastal walk

Time: ~5 hours

Grade: Moderate level

Public Transport:

  • Getting to Spit Bridge – There is a bus from the city to Spit Bridge
  • Getting from Manly – There is a ferry and a bus from Manly to the city

  1. Looks like a really pretty route, and an achievable one for those who aren’t super serious hikers too. Lovely views.

Beautiful, thanks for the tip! We’re in Canberra so try to get up to Sydney whenever we can, though I haven’t done the Spit bridge to manly coastal walk yet. Will add it to the list 🙂

  3. Walking and hiking are great activities. They are not only great in terms of physical fitness, but gets you close to nature and also affords a lot of introspection opportunities. The coastal walk seems to be a great experience in awesome settings.

It sounds like a really scenic walk. I will definitely do it when I am in Sydney next time. I think I can walk 10K faster than 5 hours. Walking on the beach for so long must be so refreshing.

It looks like a great walk – and I need to join you in the walking more thing – I just hope we don’t have too much rain in Melbourne as that would really put me off!

The Sydney Harbour is such a beautiful spot. I still think it makes Sydney one of the more physically beautiful cities in the world. Haven’t heard of this walk though. Thanks!

  10. That’s a great goal to get out and hike more this year. It’s healthy for us to get outdoor both physically and mentally.
