The inception of Sculptures by the Sea dates back to 1996, driven by the vision of David Handley. Inspired during his time in Prague, where a visit to an outdoor sculpture park in Klatovy left a lasting impression, Handley envisioned bringing a similar artistic celebration to Australia. With the picturesque stretch from Bondi to Tamarama Beach suggested by friends, Sculptures by the Sea has since become a cherished annual event, showcasing the beauty of outdoor sculpture against the stunning coastal backdrop.
