3 personality traits I am proud of

The next topic on the 30 days blog challenge is to list the three personality traits that I am extremely proud of.

Before I start listing my personality traits, I would like to tell you a story of how I was and how I outgrew that to develop a trait that I am proud of now.

When I was at school, I was a child who spoke less, who was shy and who had less confidence. I have had some amazing mentors throughout my life, who guided me and got me to where I am today and I am very thankful to them for shaping me for whom I am today.

Love for other living beings – this is something that I always had throughout my life. It is a trait that was embedded and taught by my parents. I am very proud of this as I have the compassion and love for animals (including the tiniest animals/insects).

Vocal and upfront about my opinion – after dealing with a lot of people throughout my life at personal and professional level, one thing I learned was that there is no way that a person can read other people’s minds. If you need something and something has to be done, it is important to voice it out and be upfront.

Stand up for myself and others – when I was at school, I was an introvert. My classmates often took advantage of this and often bullied me. I was mentored (a lot) by some important people to stand up for myself. This is a trait which took lot of time for me to learn. I always stand for what I believe is ethical and right. And I always stand up for people who have less ability to stand up for themselves. I remember one of my schoolmates who met me after many years mentioned about how much I had changed and how I had started to deal bullying. And I feel this was my validation of success.

I know life is a constant learning and there is a long way for me to be where I want to be. But everyday is a step closer to that.

Thank you for reading and have a great day ahead!

Cheers,
