What’s on Sydney?

In Sydney, we are blessed with so many festivals/events that happen annually. I have been going to most of them every year from the time I have moved to Sydney. So, I thought why not make list of all the fests/events that I attend and specify on What’s on Sydney?

May

Sydney Vivid – A festival of lights and music is Sydney vivid. It is a 3 weeks festival, starting from the last week of May.

  • Venue: Many locations across Sydney, including Circular Quay and Darling Harbour.
  • Cost: Free

Whale Watching – The starting of the official Whale watching season. It is that cool season where whales migrate from Antarctica to up north to Queensland.

  • Venue: Boats depart from Darling Harbour and Circular Quay; also there are various whale watching spots around Sydney like La Perouse.
  • Cost: Boat rides varies in cost; whale watching spots are free.

June

Milky Way season – It is winters and it is the Milky Way season. The skies are amazing to look at.

  • Venue: Various
  • Cost: Free

July

Christmas in July – It is winters in Sydney in July – seasons reversed compared to Northern Hemisphere. So we show off wearing the red and green jumpers matching with our happy socks.

  • Venue: Across Sydney
  • Cost: Free

August

Wild flowers at Muogamarra nature reserve – These wild flowers only bloom for 6 weeks and can be viewed during August.

  • Venue: Muogamarra Nature Reserve
  • Cost: There is an entry fee and it costs about AUD 15 per adult. Note: They accept only cash.

Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival – Yes, we have a cherry blossom festival here in Sydney. It starts in the mid of August.

  • Venue: Auburn Botanical Gardens
  • Cost: There is an entry fee and it costs about AUD 7. Note: They accept only cash.

September

The festival of Winds – It is a kite festival. This is the two days festival where everyone flies kites at the beach.

  • Venue: Bondi beach
  • Cost: Free

October

Dhandiya – The dancing Indian festival is organised every year.

  • Venue: Liverrpool
  • Cost: AUD 15

Sculptures by the Sea – An annual exhibition at Bondi beach to exhibit sculptures created by artists around the world. It is a 2 week event starting in the last week of October.

  • Venue: Bondi beach
  • Cost: Free
What's on Sydney

Jacarandas season – Its that beautiful season where Sydney turns purple with Jacaranda trees everywhere. It starts from end of October and goes into November.

  • Venue: McDougall Street, Kirribilli.
  • Cost: Free

Conclusion
