I admit that visas are one of the biggest contributors for the expenses during travels. And also the effort that it takes to get visas and the stress that we go through during those visas processes cannot be debated.

My biggest savings during my career break will be obtaining these visas. One of my main reasons to take the Australian citizenship. According to Passport Index 2019, Australia passport stands at Global ranking of 6. And this helped in not requiring visas for most of the countries I was visiting. However, Bhutan travel turned out to be very expensive (as it was only through a tour operator).
