Micro light – Up the sky, I fly so high!
I was visiting Bangalore after a very long time and my friend and I wanted to do something special in the city itself. So we decided to try out the micro light flying experience.
About Micro light flying
Micro light flying at Jakkur is one of the must-have experiences in Bangalore. A small flight which can accommodate only 2 people, the pilot and the co-pilot. The micro light flying in Bangalore was started around 5 years ago and is currently managed by two people, Nithin and Akshay.

Booking & Cost
Advance booking has to be done at least one day prior to flying as there are quite a number of people who sign up. So if you don’t want to be stuck on the day waiting for your turn, make sure you book in advance. It costs about Rs 3500/- (approximately USD 50) for the experience. For bookings, you can reach out to them on their Facebook page, Micro light flying adventures or on their website.
Ensure to check the up-to-date price of the experience as it may have been changed.
Experience of Micro light
Piloted by Captain Aravind, you get to be the co-pilot of the micro light that takes you 4000 feet above the ground level. A fantastic aerial view of an early morning view of North Bangalore, and the beautiful lakes surrounding the aerodrome.
Akshata from ‘Dialog with life‘
Akshata, my friend said “Initially, I was apprehensive, but as soon as I held the steering shaft I felt a rush of adrenaline. And the sense of thrilling control which cannot be expressed completely in words. At the end of it, I felt the 5 minutes ride was too short and wanted more time up air.”
My experience
The best moment for me was the sudden acrobatic drop that Captain Aravind did. The story was that he asked me to scream up air at the top of my voice, to which I refused instantly. So in order to make me scream, he plunged the flight out of a sudden pumping up my blood through my veins. It was an amazing feeling. And I agree with Akshata that the experience could have been a little longer.
Closing Notes
It is worth experiencing and flying the small and cute flight. It is also worth seeing the bird’s eye view of the beautiful Bangalore city. My friend and I had a great time. I would recommend doing this while visiting Bangalore.
