Passing through many waterfalls, the Valley of the waters is in the Blue Mountains National Park. Among the other hikes, the Valley of Waters hike is considered as one of the best, popular and amazing hikes. The walk starts at the Conservation Hut which is a small café in Wentworth Falls of the Blue Mountains.

The Conservation Hut is around 100 kilometres from Sydney Central Business District (CBD) and the drive takes around 1 hour 20 minutes.

The public transport is a combination of a train and a bus from and to Sydney.

The hike is quite challenging with the path being slippery. Even though this is one of the hard hikes, the hike is totally rewarding and worth it. It is definitely one of the best hikes I have done in the Blue mountains.

If you enjoy hikes then the Blue Mountains has such amazing hikes such as The Grand Canyon, Hike to Ruined Castle, Glenbrook to Red Hands Cave hike, Castle Head walk, Hike to Pulpit Rock lookout and Dantes Glen loop walk.

Some of the waterfalls that the hike passes through are:

  • Empress Falls,
  • Sylvia Falls, and
  • Lodore Falls.

Safety for Solo Female Hikers

Even though the Blue Mountains is a pretty safe area in Australia, I would still not suggest doing the Valley of the Waters hike alone. As a Hiking 101, you always need to have a buddy so you are prepared for any unforeseen situations. Also, the area has a lot of wildlife, including snakes, wallabies, and native birds, and there are remote areas that do not have any mobile signal. It is best to go with a hiking buddy.

Download the Emergency Plus app for any unforeseen situations. The app does not require a mobile network; it shows your location. This is useful to inform the emergency services in case of any emergency.
If you are a tourist, always have good comprehensive travel insurance to cover yourself in case of any emergency.
