Is Leh Safe for Solo Female Travellers?

Leh is a remarkably safe destination for solo female travellers, boasting a welcoming community and low crime rates. I’ve strolled around unaccompanied without encountering any safety concerns. However, vigilance, particularly after dark, is advisable, as in any locale worldwide.

It’s worth noting that Leh is home to numerous stray dogs, often seen roaming in groups. Please exercise caution in their vicinity, especially during the winter when food sources may be scarce, potentially triggering heightened aggression.
