Uber taxis are your friend in Bucharest, Romania
While in Bucharest, Uber is your friend. The Uber taxis are the safest, reliable and best way to travel around in the city. The most important thing to consider is that Uber app does not disclose your phone numbers to the taxi drivers and provides you as much information as possible about the driver and the vehicle, ensuring security. The taxi drivers can only message you using the Uber app.
I took Uber taxis couple of times in the city at odd times and I must say that I felt very safe. The Uber driver that I got while coming from the airport was very good that he made sure I entered my hostel before leaving me.
Also, do not take the normal taxis in Bucharest. They rip you off by charging you a lot of money – way more than what the fare should cost.
