About Caving adventure in Yogyakarta
One of the most adventurous activities I have done in Indonesia is the caving adventure in Jomblang cave. The caving adventure is operated by a local operator Jomblang Cave Tours and Travels. It is surely for the travelers who seek adventures as you can go inside a cave and explore the wild side of the cave. The adventure seekers are harnessed with ropes and safety gear where they abseil into the cave for about 90 metres.
- Wear sturdy and comfortable shoes for the activity.

After entering the cave, you can walk around and at a distance of just 500 metres from the drop point are some of the spectacular photographic points, where the light plays hide and seek inside the cave.
- Carry a torch with you as the tour agency do not provide any torches.

Booking and cost
The cave is open for the activity only over the weekends between 7 AM and 7 PM. It is best to talk to one of the local taxi drivers in Yogyakarta as they are aware of the activity and can take you to the booking place, which is the entrance of Jomblang cave.
- Try to reach the Jomblang cave early as only limited people are allowed inside the cave.
The caving adventure cost around Indonesian Rupees 450000 per person that includes the transportation to the cave, the caving adventure and the guide charges.
- Ensure to carry cash as cash is the only mode of payment.

Safety for solo female travelers
Traveling to Yogyakarta or Jomblang Cave is very safe for solo female travelers. I traveled to these places alone and I did not have any issues as such. But I did not venture out at night alone and took necessary precautions. Like any other place in the world, know your surroundings and be careful, especially after dark.
Download Emergency Plus app for any unforeseen situations. The app does not require mobile network and it shows the location of where you are. This is useful to let the emergency services know, in case there is any emergency.
If you are a tourist, always make sure to have a good comprehensive travel insurance to cover yourself in case of any emergency.
Closing Notes
The caving adventure in Yogyakarta is surely one of the must do activities in Yogyakarta. It is absolutely unique and is perfect for adventure lovers. I highly recommend doing this activity when you are in Yogyakarta.
