6 things to do in Cubbon Park
See the statues
Cubbon Park has many statues dedicated to the famous and important people. The statues talk about the history of the city, starting from the statue of Queen Elizabeth and ending at Maharaja of Mysore Chamarajendra Wadiyar. These statues transport the visitors to the history and forgotten era.
Other notable statues in the park are of King Edward VII, Dewan Seshadri Iyer and Lord Mark Cubbon.

Visit State Central Library
One of the most popular landmarks in Bangalore city is the State Central library. Also known as the Sri Seshadri Iyer Memorial library, the State Central library is home to as many as 30,00,000 books. The library is said to be century old and has seen the city change.
The library now has mobile libraries, which are books hosted in buses.

Admire the High Court
A red painted brick building known as Attara Kacheri serves as a High Court of Karnataka in Bangalore. Constructed between 1864 and 1868, the High Court of Karnataka is built in neoclassical style of architecture.

Walk amidst nature
As I mentioned above, Cubbon Park is home to many variety of flora and fauna. It is a perfect place to walk among the nature and enjoy the fresh crisp air without pollution in the city. The park is picturesque during the spring season where all the trees are filled with colourful flowers.

Appreciate art and sculptures
Cubbon Park has also been installed with many artworks and sculptures. The park is said to have about 200 stone sculptures providing some social messages. These artworks were a result of a 15 day workshop organised by Horticulture department and Karnataka Shilpakala Academy.

Watch an event at Band Stand
The Band Stand at Cubbon Park was officially inaugurated on 14 March, 1918. The venue used to witness regular performances by bands and other events. Then Mysore Maharaja’s infantry band gave the first performance. To mark the silver jubilee of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wdiyar’s rule, Madras Pioneer Group delivered a grand performance in 1927. Eventually the events and the performances stopped as it became difficult to accommodate large crowd.
In 2015, the Horticulture department with Department of Kannada and Culture decided to host cultural events on Sundays.

Safety for solo female travelers
Cubbon Park is monitored and is very safe for solo female travelers. You will find a lot of joggers and walkers in the mornings and early evenings. However, be careful at night and in the afternoons when there is less crowd. Also, like any other place in the world, be cautious and know your surroundings at all times.
