Located in Boragaon village of Satara district, the Redstone Resort is a 3.5 stars resort which is a perfect getaway from the city life. Opened in the year 2021, the resort provides a mix of luxury and comfort at affordable prices.
The resort is built into two main parts:
- One part has a lot of open space with a huge lawn, indoor and outdoor activities and a swimming pool with a view for guests to enjoy their evenings and stay and
- Other part has cottages/rooms.

Booking and check-in process
The booking process is very easy and can be done online on the resort’s official website. It is a systematic process involving checking for availability, providing the personal details and making the payment required.
During my visit, I was welcomed by a huge gate, complimented by a board displaying the name of the resort with a red stone under it. I was soon attended by one of the staff members for the check-in process. The check-in process itself was very fast, seamless and smooth. It was hassle free and all they needed was my valid identification card and a proof of second dose COVID vaccination.

After checking into my room, I was greeted with a welcome drink which was very refreshing and tasty. I instantly felt relaxed and knew I was at the right place for a relaxing holiday.

Rooms at The Redstone Resort
The deluxe rooms at the Redstone Resort are very spacious and clean. Each room is built like a little cottage of its own which ensures the privacy of the guests. The property has 17 of these cottages/rooms. Some notable characteristics of these cottages are:
- Each of them have either the pool and mountain or the forest view.
- Are spacious with air conditioning.
- Have French doors that can be opened in the evenings.
- Bathroom is clean, fitted with shower and has hot water.
- Have the facility to make morning and evening coffee and tea.

The resort also provides an option for camping. There is a camping site within the complex that has about 10 places for pitching the tents. This is to get the true nature and wild experience and is perfect for adventure lovers.

Dining at The Redstone Resort
The resort has an in-house restaurant, which is to dine in with breath-taking views of the hills and villages around. The food is prepared by local chefs and they serve both, vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I was served with some local Maharashtrian dishes and I must say that the food was delicious and beautiful. Being a foodie, I really loved and appreciated the food that was prepared by the chefs.
Note: The resort also arranges for a buffet if there is a bigger group.

Things to do in The Redstone Resort
The resort offers a number of activities, that include indoor and outdoor activities.
Indoor activities
The resort has an indoor activities room where the guest can choose between carrom, chess and Uno. Playing carrom did bring back my childhood memories.

Outdoor activities
The resort has a lot more of outdoor activities where the guests can enjoy and play various games. The guests can choose any or all of the listed activities: cricket, volley ball, foot ball, badminton, archery, and swimming. There is also a place that provides the guests with an option of rain dancing. I loved watching the splash of water and the rain dance surely sounded like a lot of fun.

Memorable things to do around The Redstone Resort
Note: All these activities are arranged by the resort.
Enjoy coffee or tea by the river bank
One of my favourite moments while staying at the resort was sipping my coffee by the River Krishna, watching the perfect and dramatic sunset. The resort staff organised a picnic by the river bank. It was soothing and serene to sit by the river and watch the day go by. The river is at a walking distance of 15 minutes and the trail is easy.

Go Strawberry picking
Another favourite moment for me was picking fresh strawberries from a strawberry farm. Absolutely beautiful and divine. The strawberries were very sweet and juicy. I loved picking them and eating them then and there.
The owner of the strawberry farm also sells these strawberries for INR 200 per kilo.

Trek to beautiful locations
The resort is surrounded by many trekking trails. The guests can choose the trails depending on the time they have and the grade they wish to trek. One of the treks that I did was to a sunrise point. The trek was a short and easy one with a distance of just 3 kilometres return. Other trekking trails included the trek to:
- Kamalgadh, which is hard and requires 3 hours of ascend.
- Elephant point in Mahabaleshwar, which is moderate and requires 2 hours of ascend.

Spot some colourful birds
I was amazed by the number of birds I spotted. There were plenty of birds, of all colours, shapes and sizes. If you love spotting birds and studying about them, then this place is surely for you. Also, note that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of peacocks and peahens.
Pay respect at ancient temples
The places of Wai, Dhom, Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani have many ancient temples. Some of the temples date back to 500 years. When you are here, make sure to visit at least two or three temples to go back in time.

Visit the Dhom dam
The resort is close to Dhom dam and the staff can arrange for a trip to the dam. At a height of 50 feet, the Dhom dam was built for irrigation and hydroelectricity. The dam provides astonishing views of the river and the backwaters.

Meet the locals
While walking around the resort, you can meet many locals from the villages. It is very interesting to meeting these beautiful people and hear their stories.

Walk amidst nature
As I mentioned earlier, the resort is in between the nature. And hence walk around the nature and learn about the local plants and trees. Each one of the trees are associated to some medicinal purpose and the staff at the resort can provide you with that knowledge.

I traveled solo to The Redstone Resort. And I can vouch saying that it is perfectly safe for solo female travelers. I had no issues whatsoever and I was very comfortable walking around and interacting with the locals. However, it is best to take a local guide/staff from the resort to walk outside of the resort, especially at night.
