How to get to Watsons Bay?
Public transport
- There are two ways to get to Watsons Bay from Sydney Central Business District (CBD).
- Frequent buses run between Town Hall and Watsons Bay. The bus ride is 45 minutes.
- Frequent ferries run between Circular Quay and Watsons Bay.

Driving
The distance between Sydney CBD and Watsons Bay is 12 kilometres and takes 20 minutes to drive.
The best way to get to Watsons Bay is by taking the public transport as this walk from Watsons Bay to Coogee beach is one way walk.
How to get from Coogee beach?
Public transport
- There are buses that run between Museum station (or Hyde Park) and Coogee beach. The bus ride is 30 minutes.

Driving
Since this walk is a one way, the car needs to be parked at Watsons Bay. And once the walk is finished at Coogee beach, one needs to take a bus to Bondi Junction and then take a train to Edgecliff station. The distance between Sydney CBD and Watsons Bay is 12 kilometres and takes 20 minutes to drive.
The distance between Coogee beach and Sydney CBD is 10 kilometres and takes 20 minutes to drive.

Bondi to Coogee beach coastal walk
The coastal walk from Watsons Bay to Coogee beach goes through Bondi beach. And the last section which is the walk from Bondi to Coogee beach itself is a very popular coastal walk that forms as a bucket list item for all travellers who visit Sydney. Whale watching
The walk from Watsons Bay to Coogee beach via Bondi beach makes a great walk to spot humpback whales during the whale migratory season (between the months of May and October). Safety for solo female hikers
The walk from Watsons Bay to Coogee beach is absolutely safe for solo female hikers. It is along the coast and the walk is a very famous walk among the locals. However, be cautious and know your surroundings, especially at nights.
